If you've seen the newest Wicked movie, you know that pink + green combo was basically made for a custom creation. Enter Karen — one of our favorite clients to design with. She’s a doctor who loves treating herself to custom jewels and came to us ready to create her next statement ring.
She’d fallen in love with the cinematic magic of Wicked’s signature colors — Glinda’s cotton-candy pink, Elphaba’s emerald intensity — and wanted a ring that captured that whimsical, enchanted energy.
And so: the idea for this iconic pink and green sapphire toi et moi heart ring was born.

Where It All Started: A Vision Born From Wicked
Karen came to us with a very specific spark — the pink and green tones from the Wicked movie had her fully inspired. She’d been saving reference rings she loved, collecting inspo like the seasoned custom connoisseur she is, and when she reached out, she already knew she wanted something vibrant, meaningful, and infused with that irresistible Wicked energy.
Together, Karen and Chef Sara sifted through her saved inspirations and started shaping a direction that blended everything she loved: color, character, and a touch of magic.
That’s where the idea of a toi et moi heart design emerged — two hearts, two colors, two energies in one ring. A little Glinda, a little Elphaba, and very much Karen.
Choosing the Heart Stones: From Rough to Radiant
Creating two perfectly matched hearts isn’t just a “pick two gems and call it a day” situation. Hearts require precision, symmetry, and personality — especially when they’re sitting side-by-side.
Since both stones needed to be the same size and shape, we recommended going the custom-cut route. Karen loved the idea (which honestly made our gem-loving hearts grow three sizes).
She chose her rough virtually, selecting pink and green rough sapphires that would transform into her final matching hearts.
From there, our cutters worked their magic — turning those rough sapphires into two gleaming 5mm heart cuts, calibrated to perfection.
Designing the Ring: Wicked Inspiration, GB Flavor
With the custom stones underway, we refined the design itself — a toi et moi setting with two heart-cut sapphires nestled closely together, their shapes meeting in the middle so the pink and green feel connected in one seamless moment.
Karen reviewed renderings with us as we walked through each detail, making sure the final design matched the Wicked aesthetic she loved.
Once everything felt exactly right, we moved into production — shaping, setting, polishing, and bringing the ring to life with the same obsessive attention to detail our team pours into every ring we make.
The Inscription That Ties It All Together
Inside the band is an inscription Karen chose — “You can do anything.” Sara says it “really sums up the vibe,” and we agree. It feels like the perfect message for a ring she dreamed up, designed, and gifted to herself.
